Tax Time

I have finally figured out why today is called Tax Time – it because it is taxing getting all the info together to fill in the numbers into the computer. Whew – done – I REALLY need to find an easier way to keep all this info.

I have recently talked to a couple of dealer friends and they are in the same boat. There has to be an easier way to keep all of these numbers together while taking less time.  Paperwork, paperwork – and more paperwork. Maybe I just need another me to keep up with all of the paperwork.

Well I have started a couple of new speadsheets and may have figured out a way to at least take less time entering info into the computer. I am using google docs and have created a form to enter inventory, income and expenses. It seems a lot easier to enter the info into a form instead of the spreadsheet itself. The other advantage I see is that I can enter the info into the pc or on my tablet. So when I am out at an estate sale, I can open the tablet, enter where I am, and how much I spent, along with a description of what I purchased.

This way doesn’t tell me how much I spent for each item, but I at least have a total dollar amount I spent. I then will continue to write my inventory info into my book to keep track of how much I spent on each item, and my research info on the items. I will them be able to enter this info into my inventory form (spreadsheet). Do I need this much info? I don’t know, but I do know how much I spent on each item, and not just an overall total amount made or lost.

Would love to hear your thoughts and ideas on how you keep track of all this stuff for “Tax Time”.

Have a great week,

What’s New @ The Speckled Goose

Things have been going well here in Colorado. I have been super busy getting my new space filled inside Homestead Antiques, Arvada, Co. I have a nice size space, and I am loving it! I love walking around checking out everyone’s treasures. Homestead Antiques also has a Great group of dealers – everyone that I have met are super nice.

John has started competing in the Jr.High spring rodeos. Hubby and John. have been gone the last three weekends, and they have a rodeo scheduled every weekend through May, except Mother’s Day weekend.

Spring has come to the ranch – all of our girls (sheep) have had their babies, and everyone is doing well. I have to get pictures, but the weather has been so weird that I haven’t gotten out there yet.

More soon as I have a lot more to share. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Happy Friday

It is a little cloudy in San Antoino this morning, but is is supposed to be 79 today. Can’t get any better than that.

Jennifer is driving down from Austin to pick us up and take us to tour her house, and a little of Austin. We should even get to see where Chris works. Can’t wait, and only 2 days with my baby isn’t enough, but it is wonderful to get to see them.

The convention has been great – have gotten to see a lot of people that we only see at these things. It is a lot quieter since Cleve isn’t here, and feels a lot different, but it is fun listening to all the stories everyone is sharing!

Well it is time to get back to reading some of my favorite blogs.

Have a great day!

Roughing It

Right now I am roughing it a little sitting at an outside patio on the riverwalk listening to a water fall. Hubby is in a meeting and I am enjoying the sights of San Antonio. The weather is beautiful, and the scenery is amazing – ducks quacking & watering running – all the while I am working on the

Vintage Campers Obsession

I have recently admitted to my hubby that I have an obsession with vintage campers. I had a gal in the store the other day and she purchased a couple of pillows for her vintage trailer. I got so excited talking to her about camping in vintage trailers.

I am going to take my time to research, collect, and obsess over vintage trailers for a while, but in the mean time I thought I would share a few pics that I have found, and fallen in love with.

Oh, by the way, hubby rolled his eyes at me when I told him about the camping trips this gal goes on, and the vintage camper thing. What does he know?

Isn’t she adorable!

pink & silver camper Vintage trailers like this are making a comeback. If you have the opportunity to pick up something like this for dirt cheap I would suggest getting it. Fixing up the interior is a lot of fun and quite inexpensive if you access the resources available OR you could call me and my husband and I will redo the interior and exterior for a reasonable rate.

I love the colors in this one~

Would love a pair of banquets where you could fold down the table and convert to sleeping space for guests

More later.
