Happy January

Hope your year has started off good. We are busy at the ranch, but then when are we not? It is Stock Show time. Boys went to PBR last night, and had a great time.

John is wrestling so that is keeping him busy, and he is having a great time.

What have I been up to? Well I have some exciting news – I am opening a new antique mall in a couple of weeks. I am super excited, but I have a lot of work in the next few weeks. I will be moving out of Homestead Antiques & Rocky Mountain Antiques.

Our new store website address is – http://lafayette-antiques.com

Have a great evening.

Happy Holidays

I hope you all had a great Christmas with friends and family. We stayed home with just the 3 of us. Nice and quiet. The boys did go ride their horses for a while, while mom napped. :0

I saw  a lot of customers buy furniture for themselves for Christmas this year? How about you? Did any of you purchase new furniture or appliances?

Check out ChoiceHomeWarranty.org for insurance on your new appliances. Or check out their YouTube – https://youtube.com/user/HomeChoiceWarrenty

We didn’t purchase furniture or appliances for Christmas this year, but I did let a customer talk me into purchasing a cabinet at the store. I had been looking at for a while, but you know the old problem, where am I going to put it? And why do I really need it? Well she mentioned that it would be adorable with antique quilts displayed in it as it has glass doors. She was right, and yes I put it on layaway.

It will be coming home with me after the first of the month. I am excited, and can hardly wait to share a picture of my new cabinet with my antique quilts. AWESOME!

Have a great day!

Fall is in the air in Colorado, then we go back to beautiful spring days. Jr. High School rodeo is done until spring, so John decided to play basketball. He is having a great time, getting exercise, and doing great on our healthy eating journey. He has lost about 25 pounds, and is getting in shape for spring.

Hubby has lost 75 pounds, and is looking and feeling great. He went to Las Vegas recently to participate in the National Sr. Finals Rodeo. Had a great time and even came home with a little cash.

The pugs have been busy keeping an eye on Jack (who recently celebrated his 14th birthday), and keeping the chair warm for me.  =)

I have been busy keeping spaces full in 4 antique malls. Was starting to empty a storage unit, which is great, but then I picked up a couple of more pieces of furniture to replace the stuff I took to the stores. It is a never ending process.

Hope you all have a great week, and until next time!

Today is a quiet day for me ~ dogs are sitting the shade and I am enjoying a cup of iced coffee. I should be working, but i just feel like sitting back and reading.

Hope you all  have a great day.

@ The Ranch this week

Well this past weekend was the start of the National Western Stock Show in Denver, CO. It is always a favorite of our family. Hubby is cooking lamb legs today, and tonight we will be in the back with the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) feeding them and their families dinner before their ride. This is always a good time, and John loves to talk to and see what his favorite cowboys are up to. Mark and John will be back out there on Saturday Jan 19th for the PRCA Cowboys.

The first pic is hubby cooking lamb legs, and the second is Mario helping feed the cowboys. A great time is had by all!

@ The Ranch week of 1/6/13

Well things are starting to get back to normal around here at the Ranch. John goes back to school tomorrow after 2.5 weeks of break. I am exicted, but I don’t know how excited he is, although I have enjoyed sleeping in till 7:30 am.

Jack our 13 yr old border collie had another stroke – doing better, but still a little lopsided. I sure hope he doesn’t have too many more of these, they sure throw him for a loop for a few days.

Penny and John are getting along good, and she loves her new Christmas presents she received! Won’t be long for rodeo season to start for them. I am excited to get to watch them do some roping.

Well back to work – you all have a great week.

@ The Ranch

We had a wonderful Christmas @ The Ranch this year. It was quiet, just the three of us at the house. It was the first in a long time that we had fresh snow on the ground, altough I didn’t go outside – it was too COLD!  =)

We’re still having a cold front. Not getting much warmer than the 30’s if it gets that warm. Santa was good to all of us – I hope he left wonderful goodies at you house also.

It is time go get back to work around here. I have taken a couple of weeks off from the blog because of being so busy at the store. Tomorrow I am taking a mental health day and going to a few antique stores to wonder around. Then on Wednesday it is time to tear up my rooms at NT and bring in a lot of new stuff. I am so ready to give it a fresh look. With all of the new ideas I have floating around in my head, it will probably take me 2 weeks to get it finished.

Have a great day, and more later. John thinks I need to get some laundry done today. What is up with that?

@ The Ranch This Week

We had a quiet Thanksgiving day. Hope you had a great time with friends and family. Hubby and I did take a ride around the pasture on the horses. Penny is such a pleasure to ride. John is one lucky boy. I may have to ride her more often! I also spent a lot of time bonding with the dogs. It was such a beautiful day!

Not much new going on at the ranch. Working on getting ready for Christmas. John is putting together his list for Mom, Dad, and Santa. John saw a commerical on TV for different colored trees, so last night we went to town to check them out. John picked out a 4′ white tree with white lights. Hopefully we will get it put up tonight.

Well I guess I should get back to work.

Have a great week!

Néw @ The Ranch

Well there has a lot happening on the ranch the last few days. Sammie came through her surgery good, and then Jack had a stroke. Thankfully dogs strokes affect them differently than humans. He is doing a lot better, and should be back to normal within another week.

Mark and John checked out a horse for John and brought her home. Penny and John are getting along great. She is a beaut.

Haley d’Pug and Bear are happy little campers, but exhausted after a full day at the store. They got lots of love from the customers and then a soft taco on the way home for all of their good work.

Here is a pic of John and Penny. Isn’t she pretty. More pics to come.

@ The Ranch 10/1/12

Well not much new going on at the ranch right now. John is almost done with football, and spending a lot of time riding horses. Sammie our 14 yr old red & white border collie female is getting a tooth pulled today, and is getting spayed because she has an infection. Guess that might stop some of the stupid stuff that happens around here every 6 months.

Good news – Got the word back that Sammie came through her surgery well, had a nasty infection and will be able to come home tomorrow. It is always a worry when they have surgery, but especially since Sammie is 14 yrs old is is more worrisome.

Here is a pic of Weld Central Jr High 7th grade football team. They are on offense in this pic. Not too many more games this season. I am glad that I have a job that I can adjust my schedule to watch. #57 is John, and I am a proud mama.

Have a great week!
