The Speckled Goose was created and opened in June 2006. I started in a small 600 sq ft building in the heart of Old Town Lafayette, Colorado. We started with handcrafted gifts and home decor. I was having a great time living my dream. I soon realized that we needed more, so I brought in vintage, collectables and new items to the store. We thrived for four years.

While I worked four to five days a week at The Speckled Goose, I also worked at Noble Treasures twice a week. In June of 2010 my landlord decided that she was going to sell the property, and I lost my sweet little building.

 But, I didn’t give up!! I expanded. Yes, in this economy, I expanded. I started working between 3 – 5 days a week at Noble Treasures. I am down to three days a week (most of the time). And I increased my space – I am not sure how many square feet I have, but I have two large rooms, and I am thriving. I have started selling more furniture.

In September 2011, I expanded again to a store in Old Town Erie, Colorado – Huckleberry Marketplace. Things are going great there also. I am living the dream!
